My Story

I was born and raised in Gustavus, Alaska, a small community near the entrance to Glacier Bay National Park. Fresh out of college, I wanted to see the world but needed a way to fund my wanderlust agenda. Opportunity came when I teamed up with my brother to become commercial salmon fishermen in Alaska.

I spent summers on my fishing boat and winters traveling. I especially enjoyed escaping winter in one hemisphere to experience summer in the other! During my travels, I've visited 25 countries.

As long as I can remember, I have had a passion for real estate. During the time between fishing and traveling, I lived here in Portland and invested money earned from fishing into Portland real estate. I became increasingly immersed in the Portland market and decided to pursue real estate full time.

Community Involvement

I believe in Portland and its people. I am proud to serve as director of the Pearl District Foot Patrol, a group of 45 volunteers who walk the Pearl weekly to clean up trash and advocate for neighborhood safety and livability. It’s a great group of people who have worked hard together and accomplished a lot of good. Take a look at the Pearl District Neighborhood Association website to learn more (and maybe join us for a walk!).

Why Downsizing?

Working in such a specific niche in Portland real estate, I’ve become an expert in helping clients downsize, which allows me to provide the very best advice and services.

I worked with Chris for over a year and found him to be a man of great integrity, honesty, and patience. He found us the perfect retirement home in a fantastic location and we could not be happier with the result. We were sorry when we closed escrow because we wouldn't be seeing our friend as often! Chris knows Portland inside and out and anyone would be very fortunate to work with a man of this caliber!
